Pathfinders

The Trailblazers

Our Pathfinder Club is a Christ-centered & recreational-activity based program for the youth (5th - 12th grade). Kids can become members of the Pathfinder Club through a special Induction ceremony. When teens start their Freshman year they may become Jr staff members through a Teen Leadership Training program.

Teen Leadership Training

The TLT program provides solid opportunities for teens to grow as they are integrated into leadership positions. Understanding that growing is a process, through the years Pathfinders have supplemented what was taught in weekly meetings with a variety of training opportunities. Whether through teen leadership conferences or ministry specific student leadership training events, teens have the chance to step away from the everyday routine in order to dig deeper in their walk with Christ and grow in their leadership skills.

Activities

Pathfinders offer a wide range of activities and we offer a large number of ways our youth can engage with God and experience Christian fellowship. Pathfinders are taught the word of God with the purpose of building a spiritual foundation, igniting a passion and developing the ability to share that message with others. The heartbeat of Pathfinders is the weekly meeting. The weekly meetings are designed to allow time to work on Honors, Investiture Achievement curriculum, March & Drill, club outings, and Share your Faith outreach activities. Our annual functions include the Pathfinder Bible Experience, Fair, Camporee, Investiture ceremony, teen summit, and more.

Camping & camping/survival skills

There's nothing worse than arriving at the campsite or facing an emergency without the right gear. Pathfinders clubs have been teaching camping survival skills (proper camping equipment, food storage & cooking, fire building, survival kits, wilderness first aid, and winter camping) for over 30 years. Being prepared is ensuring you have the best time.

Community Service

Our Pathfinder club reaches out to the community on a monthly basis. We enjoy making and delivering cards to residents at Porter Place, cooking meals for families at Ronald McDonald, and helping with Operation Christmas Child. We are always looking to get connected and build up our community and neighbors.

Social Events

We truly enjoy going on outings on a monthly basis. Having game night, bowling, going downtown or to a park. Geocaching is a great way for us to get out and enjoy finding treasures while getting closer to one another.

Volunteer

Without volunteers our Pathfinder club would come to a screeching halt. That's because the majority of youth programs rely on volunteers (usually parents) to hold several roles, like administrators, coaches, or officials.

Within the ministry of Pathfinders there are several opportunities for volunteers to be involved in (teaching honors, outings, share your faith activities, camping, transportation, etc). We appreciate all of our volunteers and our desire is that they grow in their faith along with the Pathfinders they are investing in.

Our current list of volunteers are as follows…

Pathfinder Director: Melinda Berlin

Deputy Director: Billie Gaither

Counselor: Melisa Pry

Volunteer: Sabrina Berlin

Volunteer: Teresa Kahler

Volunteer: Pat Bernal

Want to get involved?

If you are interested in learning more about what is involved in volunteering for Pathfinders we would love to get you more information. Please contact us at denversouthpathfinders@gmail.com

We want to connect with you and get you going as soon as you want. There is some training that is required to go through so the sooner we get in communication the better. Thanks for your interest in our club.

Pathfinder Alumni

Pathfinders was founded in 1907 and over the course of this ministry many teens have made their way through the “halls” of the Pathfinder club. As a ministry we have recognized the need to stay connected with former members to encourage them to continue growing in their faith and provide them with opportunities to serve. These opportunities include Staff positions, Leadership conventions, Oshkosh Camporees, and mission opportunities. Through these activities we hope to reconnect alumni with one another as they continue to grow and serve in their local churches and communities.
